The Believer in Christ Jesus must endeavour to live a holy and righteous life before God and mankind. Holiness is the nature of God; it’s the lifestyle of purity, righteousness, truth and undiluted faith in God. It simply means that we live the way Jesus lived whilst in the world, by putting God first before His own will. Leviticus 11:45, “I am the LORD, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy”.
Therefore, when we pray through living a holy lifestyle, our prayers are more godly, powerful, effective, selfless, pure, lovely, forgiving and is led by the Holy Spirit.
Holiness is born out of the reverential fear and genuine love of God, and for God. What that means is this; holiness the product derived from our truest fellowship, pure love, reverence, unending admiration allegiance and gratitude to God Almighty.
Hebrews 12:14,”Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord”.
Holiness is the key element in the Believer’s pursuit of an everlasting life with God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour; and by the powerful help of the Holy Spirit. A Believer in Christ Jesus who is walking in holiness, is one who is sanctified by the Blood of the Lamb, who lives in perpetual obedience to God and His word, and whose heart is in the things of Heaven rather than the earth.
The Holy Spirit is the essence of holiness. Therefore, It is the Holy Spirit of God that enables the Believer in Christ through grace and mercy, to continually live a sanctified, righteous, holy, sacrificial and obedient life to God.
Below are a few examples of those who through a lifestyle of holiness, purity and righteousness in the Bible, had powerful response to their prayers from God;
a. Daniel’s prayers were answered quickly.
b. Joseph, through a sanctified and holy lifestyle, was vindicated and elevated by God.
c. Elijah’s prayers were powerfully answered by God because he lived a righteous and holy life.

Seven Ways To Walk in Holiness and Righteousness.
1. Detest, resist and desist from sin. Do not give in to temptations.
2. Develop the reverential fear of God and undiluted love for God.
3. Consciously walk in Agape Love, peace and not hatred or unforgiveness. Walking in the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
4. Create a life of continuous obedience to God, and His word.
5. Meditate on the word and promises of God consistently.
6. Examine ourselves from time to time, to ensure that we are living in the will of God for our lives.
7. Create a lifestyle of prayer, fasting, praise, worship, gratitude and sacrifices unto God.
